July was another busy month of the soccer calendar with the CONCACAF Gold Cup, International Champions Cup (ICC), Confederations Cup, MLS, and numerous club and international friendlies as European teams continue their preparation for their upcoming seasons.
The entire Gold Cup and part of the ICC were hosted in the U.S. and all games were featured on TV. Impressively, the tournament-long, in-stadium average attendance for each were 32,784 and 56,950, respectively.
Because of the Confederations Cup and Gold Cup, the U.S. Men’s National Team and the Mexican National Team were both featured the most on U.S. TV. To no surprise, Mexico is in four of the top five most-viewed matches of the month.
As we look ahead to August, MLS enters the dog days of summer and the European leagues are back in swing. Happy soccer viewing!
