FIFA has been going through some (cough, cough) “rough times” recently, but this past week the FIFA Executive Committee got down to business and agreed on a plan that shapes the 2026 World Cup as a 40-team tournament.
This would add more matches. More matches means more eyeballs, and more butts-in-seats. In turn, this means more opportunity to reach fans and that translates to more corporate investment.
First bit of good news out of FIFA HQ in some time. Even if there is much more work still to do to make this a reality.
