Broadcasters and Brands Scored Big in this 2016 Summer of Soccer

It’s hard to avoid reports of industry successes across June and July’s frenetic 6-week run of Copa America and European Championship activity. Set alongside a healthy dose of MLS, USL, NWSL and USWNT Olympic prep activity, the cultural happening that many (including us) coined the “2016 Summer of Soccer” was a win for those who watched, attended, streamed, socialized, reveled or just generally enjoyed this special moment.

As important, it was a huge, Andres Cantor style, G-O-A-L for the broadcasters who showed us these matches and the brands who helped us all celebrate.

We put together some viewership insights on the winners and…well…winners of these last 6-weeks below:

Not to be outdone, the folks at Adweek have assembled some top brand activations on display throughout these tournaments.

Time for us all to take a deep breath, relax and remind ourselves how fun this “2016 Summer of Soccer” was.

Wait…was? Is.

Liga MX comes back tonight, and the Timbers host Seattle in MLS Sunday afternoon. Great soccer never stops for fans, broadcasters and brands in America, and that’s a great thing.
