For the past two decades Copa Food City (Phoenix, AZ) has consistently been the go-to event for Hispanics across the southwest region. The soccer tournament is a cross between a concert and a festival, and the number of attendees is incredible: almost 50,000 people over the course of 3 days! It’s a great way for brands to get in front of literally thousands of Hispanic consumers, and in the case of Bimbo Bakeries, bring the entertainment to the Hispanic soccer consumer! As a Copa Food City partner, Bimbo Bakeries had a fairly large footprint presence on-site, where attendees were able to sample a multitude of products and play games for prizes.
We also had Mexican National Team legend Oswaldo Sanchez, join in on the festivities on behalf of the brand. He participated in the Opening Ceremony, partook in a celebrity soccer match, and signed autographs/took photos with excited fans! He sure was popular at the event, and there’s no better way to draw in folks to your footprint than having a player appearance that’s been promoted. As always, Oswaldo was fantastic and had a great time interacting with fans.
We had fun in Phoenix this year, and looking forward to Copa Food City 2017!
