It’s been years in the making, and while it still has years and multiple legal hurdles to go through, David Beckham’s Miami FC scored a huge victory with the purchase of a private piece of land in the Overtown neighborhood of Miami. After multiple failed bids at securing sites in other parts of Miami, this marked an important step for Becks and his business partner Sprint CEO Marcelo Claure.
Even with the purchase, his ownership group still needs to purchase adjoining government property and rezone the site before construction can begin on the planned 25,000 seat stadium. Here’s to more posts about the actual progress of Miami FC over the coming months.
