Major League Soccer hasn’t had a live broadcast on Univision since 1999. Following a record-breaking broadcast of this season’s final California Clasico, I bet MLS looks to expand its live agreement with Univision moving forward.
One million people tuned in to the match, which immediately followed the USMNT vs. Colombia third-place place at Copa America Centenario. That includes 548,000 people in the key 18-49 demographic. Other notable achievements:
- Most watched game this season
- Most viewed regular season or postseason game in Spanish in league history
- First MLS match to reach 1 million viewers since David Beckham vs. DC United back in 2008
