SNHU and MLS Partner on New Initiative

Today Major League Soccer and Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) announced an innovative partnership that will elevate educational opportunities within the enterprise of MLS.

SNHU is one of the largest and most progressive not-for-profit online education providers in the country.  Over the coming years SNHU and MLS will collaborate to provide scholarship opportunities for MLS players at all stages of their career to enroll in higher education courses.

Promising young Academy players, for example, will no longer be faced with with the choice of pursing a college education or chasing the dream to become a professional player.  With SNHU’s online offering they can do both.  Equally, senior or retired MLS players contemplating their post-playing career opportunities will have access to valuable education through SNHU.

From a personal point of view, helping bring this partnership to fruition has been a very rewarding project.  As a former SNHU (New Hampshire College at the time) student and MLS Team President/General Manager I’m passionate about the game changing impact this program could have on soccer in the U.S.  GESM very much looks forward to helping develop this initiative in the coming years.
