Back in January I wrote an article about Arizona United SC attracting Grammy-winning DJ Diplo as an investor in the USL club. Little did I know that not even three months later I would be writing a follow-up article after Arizona United SC announced another major musician investing in the club.
Joining Diplo is Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz. The popular pop punk rocker from Chicago adds additional fire power to the Arizona United SC ownership group. With Phoenix being the 12th largest metro area and television market in the US and Arizona United SC being the only soccer club in town, it will be interesting to see how the club grows and continues to attract investors over the coming years ahead of the next round of MLS expansion.
