According to a recent study, 56% of MLS fans feel a kinship to anyone who is also a fan of that league. This kinship percentage among fans is higher than the affinity felt among NBA (50%), MLB (50%), NHL (47%), and NFL (38%) fans.
This is important because it shows a majority of MLS fans feel they’re all in it together in an effort to raise the profile of the league and welcome more and more fans into the mix. This helps build momentum for the youngest league in this study as the league and its fans look to solidify its identify in a crowded sporting landscape.
