In 2013 Shahid Khan became owner and chairman of Fulham Football Club and the Michael Jackson statue was brought down with a thud. No one knew what changes would come to west London when the eccentric Floridian purchased the team. Fast forward a couple of years, and the club may be floundering in the lower part of the Championship but at least they know they are welcome in the home state of their owner.
Fulham, this past week, announced that “Visit Florida” and the Florida tourism board as the Club’s shirt sponsor on a one year deal. We have seen countries such as Malaysia and Thailand become shirt sponsors but this is the first American tourism board to advertise with an English club.
