UEFA and the Power of Strong

UEFA recently launched the #WePlayStrong campaign geared toward empowering girls through the sport of soccer. Highlighting that “Football is more than just fun” and “UEFA wants every girl to feel welcome to come and play, because Together, #WePlayStrong.”

Creating a series of amazing videos highlighting young women playing soccer and working together this social and digital campaign is created to engage, entertain and educate. As a father of a 6-year-old girl, this campaign struck a cord with me. While watching a few of the videos with my daughter this week she was amazed by videos and created more than a few versions of the sticker snaps.

There are links to find “Football Near You” across Europe, view practice tips and meet the numerous professional soccer supporters of the program, including Alex Morgan.

With the success of the U.S. Women’s National Team we have a step up on engaging youth girls in the states but there is no denying the fact that playing sports and especially soccer can have a positive and life-long impact on young girls. I see it in my daughter every time she takes the field!
