September was a very fruitful month for soccer on U.S. TV as every day of the month featured some version of the sport. World Cup qualifiers in every FIFA confederation, the first full month of European leagues, UEFA Champions League, MLS, Liga MX, and even the U.S. Open Cup Final all featured on TV. In total, there were 33 leagues or competitions on 25 different channels featuring over 300 different teams.
Looking ahead to October, World Cup qualifying becomes the main story (and we all know how that went…) as teams solidify their spot in next summer’s competition in Russia.
