Through the start of the 2016 season, Dempsey has been overtaken by Italian legend and current NYCFC midfielder Andrea Pirlo. A pair of their teammates – David Villa and Jordan Morris – also make the top 5, with former Liverpool legend and current LA Galaxy midfielder Steven Gerrard rounding out the top 5.
NYCFC has the most players in the top 10, with former Chelsea legend Frank Lampard coming in at number 9. Seattle has the most players on the overall list, with four players in the top 20.
