Dugout, the new content platform backed by some of the largest soccer clubs and athletes, launched on Monday as it looks to create a new revenue source for club’s while giving fans behind-the-scenes access to players through video content.
So far, Dugout has clubs partnerships with the likes of AC Milan, Arsenal FC, Chelsea FC, Club América, FC Barcelona, FC Bayern Munich, Galatasaray, Juventus, LA Galaxy, Liverpool FC, Manchester City FC, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid CF, and a host of others, especially within the Premier League. They’ve also signed more than 150 players including Gareth Bale, Alexis Sanchez, Joe Hart, Gianluigi Buffon, and Neymar.
We’re eager to see how the platform evolves, along with the content they publish. Currently, the platform offers a 24 hour exclusive window before a team or player can post to their own social channels. Ads will be sold for the site to drive revenue, and it will be interesting to see what form they take shape.
In addition to the website and social media channels, the Dugout app is scheduled to launch on December 5th for both Android and iOS. We’re definitely looking forward to downloading it upon release.
