In recent years I’ve been fortunate to attend dozens of Mexican national team matches in cities such as Los Angeles, New York, Houston, Dallas, Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, San Antonio, and Atlanta. Every event is the same incredible experience. A grand spectacle that transcends well beyond soccer into a symbolic celebration of Mexican pride. And when the Mexican National Anthem is played, you can’t help but realize the power of the El Tri.
In our business when you have a mass display of passion on this level, corporate marketers take note. Last week the Washington Post wrote a great article about the commercial juggernaut that is the Mexican National Team, and I was glad to be able contribute some thoughts of my own.
