Soccer on U.S. TV in 2016

Another year down, another great year for soccer in the U.S.! Whether you’re a fan of Major League Soccer, the English Premier League, Liga MX, the African Cup of Nations, UEFA Champions League, or the Argentine Primera DivisiĆ³n, the days without soccer on TV are few and far between. In fact, by our count there were only 20 days in 2016 where soccer wasn’t broadcast on TV.

We’ve been monitoring the number of broadcasts for several years now with help from our friends at Soccer America who release daily TV schedules. While tournaments and channels change year-to-year, the one thing that doesn’t is the plethora of options available to soccer fans. It should be of no surprise that in a year with Copa America Centenario, the Summer Olympics, and the European Championship, the total number of TV-broadcasted games increased from 2015.

Below you’ll find our recap of soccer on TV in 2016.

In 2017 we will transition our soccer on TV coverage to a monthly release and provide additional insights, so stay tuned!
