Soccer on U.S. Television May 2018

April showers brought May flowers as soccer continues to bloom. The not-quite-summer, but not-really-spring month marks the end of the European calendars (although many were over much sooner), the conclusion of Champions League and Europa League, and the culmination of Liga MX’s Clausura campaign.

The marquee event of the month around the globe was the Champions League final where Real Madrid defeated Liverpool in front of over 3 million American viewers on FOX and ESPN Deportes.
The Clausura playoffs, including both legs of the Toluca / Santos Laguna final, all were watched by over 1.6 million Americans.

What would May 2018 be without a mention of what’s to come in June? With teams wrapping up World Cup prep, several international send-off games were played, including Mexico vs. Wales at the Rose Bowl – viewed by almost 2 million Americans on UniMas.

Where did may net out on the super official, highly regarded soccer excitement scale? Judges, your verdict:

…but the reality is every month with soccer is a 10 out of 10!
